5 amazing ideas for you to make your New Years extra-special

Sheryl Thomas

2019 is finally here! Yayyyy! Are you excited much? Hope y'all had a happy and fruitful 2018. But if you think otherwise, then it is never too late because it is one more new opportunity for you to do something great, isn't it? We are here with some really great ideas which will make this new year memorable. Let's get it rolling!

1. The Happy Memory Jar

Most of us have this habit of looking back at the year on the last day and reminiscing about the most beautiful times. This obviously draws a smile on our faces. Here's something to make it even better. The memory jar is all you will need. Every time you have an unforgettable day or moment, write it down on a piece of paper with the date and put it into a jar. On the last day of the year, sit back, hold the jar in your hand, empty your paper pieces and read your memories one by one.

2. Vision Board

Do you have the habit of preparing a bucket list and often forgetting about what you wanted to do in the first place? Haaa! You are not alone. That is why we have the Vision Board. Cut out pictures of the things that you want to buy/try, places you want to visit or things you want to achieve. Pull out a board and paste all these pictures on the board. Hang this up on your room wall, somewhere you keep looking often. There you go! You are more likely to complete your bucket list now.

3. Restaurant Map

Hola Foodies! How can we ever forget you? Trying out new restaurants has always been a foodie's favourite thing to do. But what if you do it a bit different this year? Let's get to the Restaurant Map. Make a list of all the restaurants you want to visit this year. Opt for restaurants with different cuisines, according to interest. Buy a city map and mark all the restaurants that you have listed. Every time you visit a restaurant, make sure you mark it done on the map.

4. Movie Box

There are so many movies out there in this world and so little time to watch. But if you are a movie buff, then you would love this activity. Get movie recommendations from a group of friends and write each movie down on a piece of paper. Collect all the papers and put them in a box. Randomly pick a chit from the box, every day or every weekend and watch whatever movie you picked. This activity works best during sleepovers. Just keep picking at random and have a fun movie night.

5. Bookmark String

Bookworms have this thing of getting into Reading Challenges at the beginning of every year. But then as days progress, the reading progress starts to become thin. This is not happening in 2019. Yessss! Let's make a cool home decor + reading challenge reminder for your gorgeous room. Write down each book name on a piece of chart, connect them all together using a string and hang it in your room. You will never forget again!
